
Nashville, Tenn. (August 30, 2012) - Owl City's The Midsummer Station (released August 21st via Republic Records) made its debut at #7 this week on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, making The Midsummer Station Owl City's third album to appear in the Top 10. The album debuted at in the Top 25 at iTunes in 16 countries and hit #1 in the US, Canada and Japan.
The album’s lead single at Christian radio, “Shooting Star,” sits at No. 5 on the CHR chart this week, with 15 out of 18 stations now spinning the song. The mainstream lead single "Good Time," Owl City's smash duet with Canadian pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen, has now sold over 1 million copies and is expected to earn platinum status this week. "Good Time" made its debut in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 leaping four spots to #9 this week, along with gaining on the Digitial Chart, jumping to #5.
In support of the album release, Owl City teamed up with Carly Rae Jepsen for five national television performances, including Conan, The Tonight Show, The Today Show, Arthur Ashe Kids Day, and America's Got Talent, which can be viewed below. After completing a sold-out headlining run this past July, Owl City will hit the road again on "The Midsummer Station World Tour," kicking off September 5th in Nashville for a four-continent, 45-date run.
